The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), under the aegis of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has released an official notification dated 21st May 2025 inviting applications for the deputation-based recruitment of Joint Registrar, Deputy Registrar, and Assistant Registrar posts. Qualified and experienced officers from Central/State Governments, Judiciary, Tribunals, and statutory organizations are invited to play a pivotal role in India’s company law adjudication mechanism.

Eligibility Criteria
For Joint Registrar
- Officers from Central/State Government, Courts, Tribunals, or Statutory Bodies.
- Must hold:
- An equivalent post on regular basis, or
- A post in Level-12 with 5 years of regular service, or
- A post in Level-11 with 10 years of regular service.
- Law degree from a recognized university.
- Experience in personnel and administrative matters.
For Deputy Registrar
- Officers working under Central or State Government or judicial/statutory organizations.
- Must hold:
- An equivalent post on regular basis, or
- A post in Level-11 with 5 years of regular service.
- Law degree is mandatory.
- Experience in administration or legal affairs.
For Assistant Registrar
- Officers from similar backgrounds holding:
- An equivalent post, or
- A post in Level-9/10 with 5 years of service, or
- A post in Level-8 with 6 years of service, or
- A post in Level-7 with 7 years of service.
- Degree in law is essential.
- Should have experience in court, legal, or administrative work.
Maximum Age Limit: Should not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of application.
Pay Scale
The selected officers will receive pay and allowances as per the 7th Central Pay Commission guidelines:
- Joint Registrar: Level-13 (₹1,23,100 – ₹2,15,900)
- Deputy Registrar: Level-12 (₹78,800 – ₹2,09,200)
- Assistant Registrar: Level-11 (₹67,700 – ₹2,08,700)
Other deputation allowances and benefits will be applicable as per government rules.
Selection Process
The selection will be made on the base of:
- Eligibility criteria fulfillment.
- Evaluation of service records and experience.
- Recommendation from the cadre controlling authority.
- Suitability of the officer for the bench location.
There is no written test or interview involved. Selection is purely on a deputation basis.

- Duly filled bio-data in the prescribed format.
- Attested copies of educational qualifications and experience certificates.
- Cadre clearance from the parent department.
- Clones of Annual Confidential Reports( ACRs) Annual Performance Appraisal Reports( APARs) for the last 5 times.
- Vigilance clearance and integrity certificate.
- Details of any penalties assessed in the last 10 times.
