The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Defence Laboratory, Jodhpur, has announced a walk-in interview drive for the recruitment of Research Associates (RA) and Junior Research Fellows (JRF) in multiple disciplines. The Defence Laboratory, Jodhpur, under the DRDO, is a Materials Cluster Laboratory engaged in advanced materials and devices for defence applications. - Research Associate (RA): Not exceeding 35 years
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Not exceeding 28 years
Age Relaxation:

Educational Qualifications
RA (Physics):
- Ph.D. in Physics (Specialization in Material Science/Nuclear Physics), or
- M.Sc. in Physics with 3 years of relevant R&D/teaching/design experience and one SCI journal paper
RA (Electronics):
- Ph.D. in Electronics, or
- M.E./M.Tech. in Electronics with 3 years of R&D/teaching/design experience and one SCI journal paper
JRF (Electronics):
- B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics/ECE (First Division) with valid NET/GATE qualification, or
- M.E./M.Tech. in Electronics/ECE (First Division at both levels)
JRF (Physics):
- First Division M.Sc. Physics degree accompanied by NET certification from CSIR/UGC or equivalent
JRF (Computer Science):
- A First Division B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science with NET/GATE qualification, or
- M.E./M.Tech. in Computer Science (First Division at both levels)
JRF (Chemistry):
- M.Sc. in Chemistry (First Division) with NET qualification from CSIR/UGC/GATE/JEST
Pay Scale / Fellowship Emoluments
- Research Associate (RA): ₹67,000 per month (consolidated), plus HRA and medical facilities as per DRDO rules.
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF): ₹37,000 per month (consolidated), plus HRA and medical facilities as per DRDO rules.
Fellowship Duration:
- RA: Two years (may be extended)
- JRF: Two years (may be extended and upgraded to SRF based on performance)
Selection Process
The selection will be done through walk-in interviews conducted at the Defence Laboratory, Jodhpur. Candidates will be selected through a merit-based evaluation of their interview performance. No written test will be held.
