Eligibility Criteria
For Deputation (Including Short-Term Contract)
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Officers serving under Central/State Governments, UTs, PSUs, recognized research bodies, universities, semi-government entities, statutory bodies, or autonomous organizations:
- (i) Holding analogous posts on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR
- (ii) After accruing five years of continuous service post-regular appointment in the Level-12 pay bracket (₹78,800 – ₹2,09,200) or corresponding scale in the home department;
AND
- (i) Possessing a Doctorate degree in Chemistry (preferably Organic/Industrial Chemistry) from a recognized university;
- (ii) At least ten years of teaching/research/industrial experience in relevant fields related to sugar technology, chemistry, or allied industrial research and education.
For Promotion (Internal Candidates)
- Internal officers currently serving in eligible academic or scientific roles within the National Sugar Institute or Ministry/Department may also be considered for promotion as per the eligibility criteria laid out in the recruitment rules and subject to approval.
Age Limit
- Applicants under the deputation (including short-term contract) scheme should not be more than 56 years old as of the final application receipt date.

Selection Process
The selection will be carried out by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution through the following stages:

Evaluation of professional and academic credentials by a Selection Committee. - Final Selection
Based on merit, experience, and recommendation of the committee.
