Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications and Experience
- Essential Qualification:
- Doctorate (Ph.D.) or an equivalent qualification in Engineering, or a postgraduate medical degree (MD or its equivalent).
- Original, high-quality research work evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and/or patents
- A minimum of five years of post-qualification research experience in neuroscience or closely related fields
Desirable Qualifications:
Candidates from all branches of neuroscience will be considered. However, preference will be given to candidates with demonstrable expertise in:
- Systems and behavioural neuroscience
- Neurophysiology
- Cognition and neuroplasticity using animal models
- Brain imaging (e.g., MRI, EEG, MEG, fMRI)
- Neuro-oncology
- Clinical and translational neurobiology
- Neuroregeneration and neurodegeneration
- Neuroimmune axis research
- Use of AI in studying neural circuits, genetic mapping for neurodevelopmental disorders or aging
Strong candidates should have:
- Multiple high-quality publications
- Research collaborations (national or international)
- Experience with translational neuroscience tools or platforms
Candidates with interdisciplinary approaches combining neurobiology, imaging, modelling, and genetic tools are especially encouraged to apply.
Salary and Benefits
- Compensation Band: Level 12 with a salary range of ₹78,800 to ₹2,09,200 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission norms.
- In addition to the basic salary, eligible benefits as per BRIC-NBRC norms including allowances, research funding, and shared laboratory space will be provided.
- Selected candidates will be given adequate start-up grants and access to state-of-the-art research facilities to initiate their research program.
Selection Process
- The selection will be through direct recruitment.
- Shortlisting: Only shortlisted candidates, based on their qualification, experience, and research accomplishments, will be called for the interview.
- A duly constituted Screening Committee will review the applications.
- The committee may request additional documents or referee comments to assess the suitability of the candidate.
- The decision of BRIC-NBRC in all selection-related matters will be final. No interim correspondence will be entertained.
