Export-Import Bank of India (Exim Bank), a premier all-India financial institution dedicated to financing and promoting international trade, has announced a direct recruitment drive for two senior-level positions. Indian nationals who meet the eligibility requirements are invited to apply for the positions of Compliance Officer (Chief General Manager Grade) and Chief Economist (on Contractual Basis).
This recruitment is a part of Exim Bank’s efforts to strengthen its strategic leadership and compliance frameworks. The bank is seeking highly experienced professionals with robust academic and leadership backgrounds in their respective fields.

Eligibility Criteria
All eligibility conditions, including educational qualifications and professional experience, must be fulfilled as of 31 May 2025.
1. Compliance Officer (Chief General Manager)
- Educational Qualification:
- Must be a qualified Company Secretary from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
- Minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in graduation.
- Experience:
- At least 25 years of total experience.
- A minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role within a bank, financial institution, or reputed corporate body.
- Key Skills Required:
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with company laws, SEBI regulations, and grievance redressal mechanisms.
- Ability to liaise with regulatory authorities, board members, and stock exchanges.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational and leadership capabilities with a high attention to detail.
2. Chief Economist
- Educational Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Economics from a recognized institution is mandatory.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a Doctorate in Economics, Finance, or Banking.
- At least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in both graduation and post-graduation.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 25 years in relevant roles such as an economist in banks, financial institutions, reputed corporates, or rating agencies.
- Academic publications in recognized journals or books will be considered a plus.
- Key Skills Required:
- In-depth understanding of macroeconomic indicators, trade policies, and global economic trends.
- Experience in policy analysis, strategic forecasting, and econometric modeling.
- Proficiency in public communication, stakeholder engagement, and economic writing.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to represent the Bank in various forums and policy discussions.
Age Limit
- Maximum age for both posts: 55 years as of 31 May 2025.
Selection Process
- The selection process involves screening, shortlisting, and a personal interview.
- Shortlisted candidates will be informed about the interview schedule in due course.
- Interviews will be held either at the Bank’s Head Office in Mumbai or in New Delhi.
- No daily allowance (DA) or travel allowance (TA) will be provided for attending the interview.
- However, second-class AC train fare from the candidate’s place of residence to the interview location will be reimbursed upon submission of original receipts.
The number of vacancies and other recruitment processes may be changed or canceled at the Bank’s discretion.

Salary and Benefits
Compliance Officer – Chief General Manager (Permanent Role)
- Pay Scale: ₹156,500 – 4,340 – 173,860 (monthly)

- Annual Compensation: ₹42 lakh per annum
- The package includes 70% fixed and 30% variable pay components.
