The Gujarat government has launched the Prasuti Sahay Yojana (Prasuti Pehla) to support female construction workers and the wives of registered construction workers during pregnancy. Who Can Benefit from the Scheme?
This scheme is exclusively designed for:
- Registered female construction workers in Gujarat.
- Wives of registered male construction workers under the Gujarat Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
- Only applicable for the first two deliveries of the eligible beneficiaries.
Financial Assistance Provided
The scheme offers two categories of financial aid:
- For registered female construction workers:
- ₹17,500 as pre-natal assistance (to be claimed within six months of pregnancy).
- ₹20,000 as post-natal assistance (after delivery).
- Total assistance: ₹37,500
- For the wives of registered construction workers:
- A one-time assistance of ₹6,000 per child for the first two deliveries.
Required Documents for Application
To avail the benefits, applicants need to submit the following documents:
- Copy of the e-construction registration certificate (for construction workers).
- Doctor’s certificate or Mamta card issued by a PHC-approved surgeon/gynaecologist.
- Birth certificate of the child.
- Aadhaar card of the beneficiary.
- First page of the bank passbook (for direct transfer of funds).
- Copy of ration card.
- Sample affidavit (as required).
Key Conditions of the Scheme
- The assistance amount will be transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
- The scheme also covers miscarriage cases to support women who experience pregnancy loss.
- Applications for prenatal assistance (₹17,500) must be submitted within six months of pregnancy.
- Applications for postnatal assistance (₹20,000 for female workers and ₹6,000 for construction workers’ wives) must be submitted within 12 months after delivery.
How to Apply for the Scheme?
- Interested beneficiaries must visit the district office to apply online through the official Honors Portal.
- If an applicant submits a physical form, the District Project Manager will upload the details online.
- The application is then reviewed by the District Inspector.
- Next, it is forwarded to the State Project Manager at the Head Office.
- The final approval is given by the Government Labor Officer and Member Secretary.
- Once approved, the amount is transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account via DBT.
