Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) Apprentice Recruitment 2025: Application Process

Rail Wheel Factory (RWF), Bangalore, has announced its apprenticeship recruitment for the year 2024-25 under the Apprentices Act, 1961. This is a golden opportunity for ITI graduates to gain hands-on experience in various technical trades at a reputed government organization.

Important Dates

  • Notification Release Date: March 2024
  • Last Date to Apply: April 1, 2025
  • Merit List Announcement: Within 45 days after the application deadline
  • Commencement of Training: Within 15 days of the merit list publication

Application Fee

  • General/OBC Candidates: ₹100 (to be paid via Indian Postal Order/Demand Draft in favor of Principal Financial Adviser, Rail Wheel Factory)
  • SC/ST/PwBD/Women Candidates: Exempted from fee payment

Eligibility Criteria

A. Age Limit (as of 01.03.2025)

  • Minimum Age: 15 years
  • Maximum Age: 24 years
  • Age Relaxation:
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC: 3 years

B. Educational Qualification

  • Class 10th pass with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board
  • National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the respective trade issued by NCVT

C. Physical Fitness Requirements

  • Candidates must meet the medical fitness standards as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.
  • PwBD candidates must fulfill eligibility criteria for their respective disabilities as per government norms.

D. Employment Exchange Registration

  • Candidates must be registered with a local employment exchange in Karnataka.
  • Wards of railway employees (working across India) are exempted from this requirement.

Pay Scale & Training Duration

  • Fitter, Machinist, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Turner, Electrician, Electronic Mechanic: ₹12,261 per month (Training Duration: 1 year)
  • CNC Programming-cum-Operator: ₹10,899 per month (Training Duration: 6 months)

6. Selection Process

The selection process is based on merit and does not involve any examination or interview.

1. Merit List Criteria

  • Prepared based on marks obtained in Class 10th (minimum 50% required).
  • Candidates with higher percentage will be given preference.

2. Tie-Breaking Rules

  • If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate will be given preference.
  • If both age and marks are the same, the one who passed 10th earlier will be preferred.

3. Medical Examination

  • Selected candidates must clear a medical fitness test before final confirmation.
