Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited invites applications for the prestigious position of Chief General Manager / General Manager (Electrical). GMRC is a 50:50 Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) owned jointly by the Government of India and Government of Gujarat, tasked with implementing the Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) in the state of Gujarat. Vacancy Details:

  • Position: Chief General Manager (CGM) / General Manager (GM) – Electrical
  • Number of Vacancies: 1 (One)
  • Location of Posting: Candidates can be posted at Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, or any other GMRC project location across Gujarat.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Power Electronics, Instrumentation & Control) from a Government-recognized University/Institute.

Experience:

  • For General Manager (GM) Level:
    • Public Sector (IDA Pay Scale): Minimum 17 years of post-qualification executive experience, with 10 years of relevant experience in electrical systems for metro/railway/LRT/sub-urban systems.
    • Government Sector (CDA Pay Scale): Minimum 17 years of post-qualification executive experience with at least 2 years in Pay Matrix Level 13 or higher.
    • Private Sector: Minimum 20 years of executive experience with 10 years of relevant experience.
    • Post-Superannuation: Candidates who are retired should have 17 years of post-qualification experience.
  • For Chief General Manager (CGM) Level:
    • Public Sector (IDA Pay Scale): Minimum 20 years of post-qualification executive experience, with 4 years in ₹1,20,000 – ₹2,80,000 or equivalent.
    • Government Sector (CDA Pay Scale): Minimum 20 years of post-qualification executive experience with 4 years in Pay Matrix Level 14 or equivalent under the 7th CPC.
    • Private Sector: Minimum 23 years of executive experience with 10 years in the relevant field.

Age Limit:

  • For Contract Appointment: Maximum 55 years.
  • For Deputation Appointment: Maximum 58 years.
  • For Post-Superannuation Appointment: Maximum 62 years.

Note:

  • Age limits are applicable as of 26th March 2025.
  • No age limit for GMRC employees.

Remuneration:

  • Contractual Appointment: ₹1,20,000 to ₹2,80,000 (IDA pay scale) along with other allowances/perks as per GMRC policy.
  • Deputation: As per the standard deputation terms.
  • Post-Superannuation: Consolidated pay, depending on the candidate’s last drawn salary and experience.

Duration of Appointment:

  • Contract / Deputation: Initially for 3 years, extendable to 5 years or until superannuation, whichever is earlier.
  • Post-Superannuation: For 3 years or until the candidate turns 62 years of age, whichever is earlier.

Selection Process:

  • Eligibility Check: Candidates will be shortlisted based on eligibility criteria.
  • Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
  • The venue, date, and time of the interview will be communicated via email.
