The vacancies are to be filled in the cities of Lucknow, Kanpur, and Agra, where metro operations are already running or in progress.

Who Can Apply
Educational Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in either:
- Electrical Engineering, or
- Mechanical Engineering (with experience in Rolling Stock or Traction systems)
The degree should be from a recognized university or institute.
Experience Requirements
Candidates must be working in a government organization, PSU, or metro rail company and should meet one of the following experience/pay criteria:
For those in Central Government (CDA Pay Scales):
- Currently working in Level 14 (Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,18,200), OR
- Working in Level 13 (Rs. 1,23,100 – 2,15,900) with at least 17 years of relevant work experience
For those in PSUs (IDA Pay Scales):
- Currently working in Rs. 1,20,000 – 2,80,000 pay scale, OR
- Working in Rs. 90,000 – 2,40,000 pay scale with 17 years of executive-level experience
Work Experience Required
Essential Experience:
- Experience in design, manufacturing, construction, operations, or maintenance of electrical systems, rolling stock, or traction systems in metro or railway environments
- Comfortable working in a digitally enabled or computerized setup
Preferred Additional Experience:
- Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems like metro lifts, escalators, renewable energy, and electrical safety regulations
- Proficiency in using relevant computer tools or applications
Age Limit
- The upper age limit is 55 years as of the last date to apply (June 27, 2025).
Selection Process
Candidates will be selected based on interviews, which will take place in Lucknow. Shortlisting may be done based on:
- Higher educational qualifications
- Experience beyond the minimum required
- Desirable or additional qualifications

- Disciplinary and Vigilance clearance
- Copies of Annual Performance Appraisal Reports (APARs) for the last four years

Job Tenure and Posting
- If selected on deputation, the tenure will be 3 years, extendable as needed.
- If selected on absorption, the appointment will be permanent.
- Posting can be at any of UPMRC’s project locations or offices across the state.
Additional Guidelines for Absorption Candidates
- A Surety Bond of Rs. 3,00,000 will be required, committing the candidate to serve for at least 3 years (excluding any unpaid leave).
- There will be a probation period of one year, which includes any training time.
- Selected candidates must be physically and medically fit for the role.
- A thorough check of the candidate’s character and background will be conducted before final appointment.
