Grade, Pay Scale & Age Limit
- Sr. Medical Officer (E-2 Grade)
- Pay Scale: ₹60,000–3%–₹1,80,000
- Upper Age Limit: 34 years
- Consultant (E-3 Grade)
- Pay Scale: ₹80,000–3%–₹2,20,000
- Upper Age Limit: 38 years
Note: Age and qualification must be from regular/full-time courses recognized by UGC/AICTE/MCI or relevant authorities.
Work Experience Criteria
- Experience must be full-time and relevant to the post.
- Residency after post-graduation will be considered experience.
- Freelance/self-practice, teaching, or research experience will not be considered.
- Supporting documents like experience certificates, appointment letters, and recent pay slips are mandatory.
Eligibility Conditions
- Nationality: Only Indian nationals can apply.
- Cut-off Date for Age & Experience: 10 March 2025
- Age Relaxations:
- OBC (NCL): 3 years
- PwD (OBC): 13 years
- Domicile of J&K (1980–1989): 5 years
- Ex-Servicemen: As per Government norms
- Additional age relaxation of 1 year per additional year of experience (maximum 3 years), not exceeding the age of 52.
Reservation
- Reservation is applicable as per Government of India guidelines.
- OBC candidates must submit valid, recent (within 1 year) OBC (NCL) certificates.
- PwD and Ex-Servicemen must upload prescribed format certificates issued by competent authorities.
Application Fee
- OBC (NCL) Candidates: ₹1000 (Non-refundable)
- Exempted: PwD, Ex-Servicemen, and Internal Candidates
Payment Mode: Online only via the payment gateway on MECON’s official application portal. No other mode is accepted.
Selection Process
- Mode: Personal Interview
- Shortlisting will be based on scrutiny of online applications and supporting documents.
- Final selection will depend on interview performance.

Travelling Allowance (TA)
Outstation candidates attending interviews will be reimbursed as follows:
- Grade E2 & E3: 3rd AC/Chair Car by Rail or ₹7 per km by road (whichever is less)
Note: TA will not be paid if a candidate is disqualified during document verification.

Place of Posting

Medical Examination
Appointment is subject to medical fitness as certified by MECON’s Medical Board at Ispat Hospital, Ranchi.
